Alex Clottey, Executive Director/CEO of INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center
Alex Clottey, Executive Director/CEO of INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center defines what it means to be of service to mankind. His devotion to ministry and to those in need is coupled with his business acumen and ability to empower others. “I live to serve others. This is my life, and this is who I am. From the time I was 7 years old, I knew I would serve others.”
Born in Accra, Ghana, Alex moved to The United States in 2002, at the age of 33. Initially he resided in Texas and then moved to Columbus, Ohio one year later. As a young man, Alex began his journey into the medical profession, earning his LPN Degree and subsequent Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) from The American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM). Alex was driven to simultaneously work in the medical field and began as a Nurses Aid. Over the course of the next 8 years, he progressed through several nursing positions to LPN with the State of Ohio, Department of Corrections, Franklin Medical until 2013. “I fell, was injured, and underwent extensive surgery. I was told that no one undergoes this surgery and walks again.”
Alex knew that he had to heal and recover so that he could move forward, impact lives, and serve others. In his mind, there was no other outcome—too many people were going to count on him. Back in Ghana, Alex was an Ordained Minister and The Lord gave Alex a vision in 1999 of what he was destined to do. As a Man of God, Alex served and lead small groups in several churches before he took the pulpit in 1995. In 1997, he became the Associate Pastor of The Christ Apostle Church International in Accra, Ghana. As of 2009, Apostle Alex launched his church, In His Presence Ministries International where he serves as Lead Pastor. Bearing witness to hunger, poverty and the poor who are living right here in Columbus, Ohio, Alex was inspired by God to launch INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center in April 2015. “This is the vision that God gave to me back in 1999. He has called me to provide for the poor. Need has no person, need has no place and need has no time. The poor will always be with us.”
IMPREM Holistic Community Resource Center is accessible to those who are in need. No appointments are necessary, no applications need to be submitted. The Food Pantry is open five days a week and the third Saturday of each month. The Saturday Produce Market and General Market provides fresh produce, clothing items, furniture, and household goods to those who are in need. “Our reach is expansive, as we have already touched lives from those who reside in 331 zip codes. We make it simple to get assistance. All we require is proof of a permanent address and a State Issued ID. The majority of those we serve, who we refer to as clients, are immigrants or refugees.”
Clients are welcome to come to the Food Pantry once per week and on Saturday to pick up the provisions that their family needs. There is mutual respect and clients only pick up what they need and what they will use. “Lives are transformed, and we witness a healthier and more hopeful community. Our clients know that we genuinely care for them!” INPREM operates with a lean staff, a team of dedicated volunteers, and an exceptional Board of Directors. Alex is progressive and is always thinking about the future. “Our plans include providing After-School Care, Free Health Screenings, and a Computer Lab through the IMPREM Holistic Community Resource Center—House of Hope.”
Alex Clottey is a warrior against hunger and poverty. His mission is to serve others, be obedient to his calling, embrace the day, and do whatever is in his power to lessen everyday struggles while bringing about positive change and results. “I am moved as He leads me and there are so many lives that I must impact. This is what I am called to do!”
