Deana Breitwieser, Board Secretary at INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center
Deana Breitwieser, Board Secretary at INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center is a driven Woman of God who is dedicated to serving others and is passionate about feeding people. “My parents owned restaurants and my Mother always fed everyone, regardless of their ability to pay for their meal. She instilled, in me, our responsibility to ensure that people do not go hungry, and this is part of who I am.”
In 1989, Deana launched her career in Banking and Cybersecurity, originally as a Teller at Banc One. Subsequently, Banc One was acquired by J.P.Morgan Chase and Deana’s longstanding career encompasses Retail, Asset Management, and Human Resources. “I absolutely love my position and I serve as the liaison between the J.P.Morgan Chase branches located throughout the United States and our technology. I manage the automation required for all branches to ensure that our employees have access to the tools they need to service our customers.”
In 2013, Deana became involved with J.P.Morgan Chase’s initiative called “Friday Night Fridge Raid” whereas the food that was left in the refrigerators at the end of the week in 77 J.P.Morgan Chase kitchenettes was as collected and delivered to a local nonprofit. As of 2016, INPREM Holistic Community Resource Center became the recipient of those donations. Deana met Alex Clottey, Executive Director/CEO of INPREM during that process. She fell in love with the mission as it is in alignment with her personal mission to feed the poor. Deana joined the Board in 2017. She looks forward to being ‘hands on’ during the Produce Market & General Market, which is held the third Saturday of each month. Deana is instrumental in recruiting volunteers from J.P.Morgan Chase to help each month.
INPREM is the number one Food Pantry in Columbus and is open more hours than other Pantries. Even though INPREM is located on the Northside of Columbus, it is not zip code restrictive, which is the policy of most other Food Pantries. “We serve everyone, and we often see the same families each month. I love getting to know them and seeing them return, often bringing others in need with them. This makes me feel good knowing that we are the hands and feet of Jesus.”
Service to others is nothing new to Deana. She has been running the Operation Feed Campaign since 1995. “When I see a cause and mission that I believe in, I commit and with that, I am all in!” Those in the community and at J.P.Morgan Chase often refer to Deana as The Food Drive Gal.
On June 1, 2014, Jackie, Deana’s granddaughter, was born with a heart defect and sadly, 5 months later, she passed away on November 4, 2014. “Our family formed Jackie’s Journey in order to help other families who are going through similar circumstances and traumatic experiences. Each year, we facilitate a Christmas Toy Drive and deliver toys to children on the fourth floor of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. November 4th is a difficult day, but we have created a way to go from sad to glad and to honor Jackie, who we know is happy in heaven with Jesus.”
Deana’s favorite scripture is Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you give me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in.” As a Woman of God, Deana Breitwieser is dedicated and committed to serving mankind. Through her actions she is showing Jesus to others and that is something that she will never change.
